Summer vacation may have just begun, but it won't be long before you hear the words "I'm Bored". If you are looking for something to do that will get everyone out of the house, hiking and nature walks are a fabulous choice, but why not help your kids (and you) get more out of it than just exercise, fresh air and pretty views?

Family Activity Backpacks are packs that help bring adventure to the trail! These interactive packs are free to use and can be found at a Colorado State Park near you. Each pack includes two large bug boxes, magnifiers, guide books, binoculars and a nature journal.

When visiting a Colorado State Park you can check out Family Activity Backpacks and use them to explore, discover and get a closer look at nature. With these packs families will learn about birds, insects, wildflowers and pond or tree life (depending on the park you are visiting).

When you arrive at the park, activity packs may be checked-out at the visitor center or office for day use and returned before heading home -- or if your camping back to the campsite.

You will find packs at our local Golden Gate Canyon or plan to visit one of these Colorado State Parks while you are exploring our beautiful state:
