Outdoor Education Fun at YMCA of the Rockies

New teaching kits, activities and more. FREE for YMCA of the Rockies Guests!

YMCA of the Rockies Estes Park Center is launching free outdoor education curriculum for guests.

The easy-to-follow, hands-on science and ecology lessons are developed for children in 4th-8th grades, including guides and fully-equipped kits to provide parents tools to teach grade-level appropriate science lessons such as:

  • Elk Ecology
  • Water Ecology
  • Montane Forest Ecology
  • Outdoor Living Skills
  • Route Orienteering
  • Night Hikes

The self-guided classes align with Colorado state standards including reading, writing, geography, life science, earth science, and physical science. In addition, staff-guided lessons are offered for the whole family, such as Bear Talk, Bugs Bugs Bugs, geocaching, creek stomping, fire quest, and more.
