It seems everyone in Arvada, Wheat Ridge, and Golden is looking for ways to get out of the house this winter! Fresh air is good for the soul — not to mention it helps to get the wiggles out of the kids.

1. Snowshoeing
Go snowshoeing on a local trail or venture to Golden Gate Canyon State Park which is an excellent area for the beginner snowshoer to try out the trails. There are 12 trails covering more than 35 miles. This park offers well marked paths, gentle slopes and incredible views of the surrounding mountain peaks. Snowshoes can be rented at local sports equipment rental stores.

In Colorado we are blessed with many mild winter days which are perfect for hiking. Bundle up if needed and venture out on some of the local hiking trails.
