Hi Mac KID Families!
Can you believe Easter is just around the corner? It feels like it snuck up on me this year! If you’re like me, you might be scrambling to get everything in order. My little's have been chit-chatting about the Easter Bunny for weeks now, so it's time for me to get my act together!
So, here we go! I’ve got you covered with some fun ideas to make this Easter one to remember for kids of all ages!
Whether you have little ones who are excited about egg hunts or older kids who are ready for something a little different, Easter is the perfect time to create memories and start some new traditions with your family.
Easter Egg Hunts – For Kids Big and Small
One of the best parts of Easter is, of course, the egg hunt! But don’t just stop at hiding a few eggs in the backyard. Here are some ideas to level up your egg hunts:
- For Little Ones: Hide colorful plastic eggs with small treats or toys inside. If your toddler is still learning to hunt, try using larger eggs or even stuffing them with things like stickers, crayons, or small pieces of fruit for a healthier twist.
- For Bigger Kids: Get creative with the hunt! Hide eggs in more challenging spots or include a scavenger hunt element where they need to solve clues to find the next egg. You could also use glow-in-the-dark eggs for a fun evening hunt or incorporate puzzles and small prizes that build up to a bigger Easter surprise.
- For Teens: Why not add a little friendly competition? Organize a timed egg hunt or one where the eggs contain different colored “points.” The teen with the most points at the end of the hunt could win a special Easter treat or a small gift!
Easter Eats – From Brunch to Dinner
What would Easter be without a delicious meal to enjoy with your loved ones? Whether you’re cooking a big feast or keeping it simple, here are a few ideas:
- Deviled Eggs: These are a classic Easter dish and a great way to use up the eggs you dyed earlier in the day. Plus, we all know we can't be wasting eggs these days! Spice them up with a little mustard, mayo, and paprika—or get fancy with bacon bits or avocado!
- Honey-Glazed Ham: If you’re cooking for a crowd, ham is always a crowd-pleaser. My favorite part about cooking a ham is that it's pretty simple. Kind of a set it and forget it situation (until it needs the glaze, that is). You can serve it with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, and fresh rolls for a comforting meal.
- Vegetarian Options: For our veggie peeps out there, consider a fresh spring salad with mixed greens, strawberries, and a tangy vinaigrette, or a veggie-packed frittata that can be enjoyed at brunch or dinner.
- Baked Goods: Don’t forget the sweets! Easter is the perfect time for sugar cookies, carrot cake, or hot cross buns. You could even bake bunny-shaped cookies or cupcakes decorated with pastel-colored frosting to make it extra fun!
